1. AI sales agent basics

What is an AI sales agent?

An AI sales agent is AI that executes sales work on its own once you give it a goal, instead of waiting for instructions at every step. Grinda AI's agent, Rinda, takes a target country and industry and then runs buyer discovery, personalized proposal emails, and reply handling as one continuous flow.

The difference from a general AI tool is the loop. A tool produces output each time you type a prompt; an agent repeats goal → plan → execute → check by itself. One instruction such as "find automotive parts buyers in Germany" carries through from data collection to sending.

How is AI buyer discovery different from the traditional approach?

Traditional overseas buyer discovery relies on trade shows, purchased lists, and local agencies, so the number of touchpoints scales directly with budget. Grinda AI's Rinda analyzes public data to shortlist companies that actually need the product and sends a tailored email per buyer, so accuracy of targeting drives results more than spend does.

The bottleneck moves from "how much can we spend" to "how precisely can we describe who we are looking for." If the target definition is vague, automation simply reaches the wrong companies faster.

What does Grinda AI do as a company?

Grinda AI is a B2B SalesTech company founded in March 2023 in Daejeon, South Korea, building AI agents that automate sales and marketing. Its flagship is Rinda, an AI global sales agent, alongside five dedicated solutions — short-form video, SNS auto-posting, document OCR, technical evaluation, and broadcast automation — plus AX consulting.

Grinda AI was selected for Korea's TIPS program in November 2023, joined Seoul Fintech Lab in 2024, signed an AI solution supply partnership with Japan's MINKABU, and exhibited at CES 2024. In 2025 the company pivoted its core business from financial AI to B2B global sales.

How much of the sales process does the agent actually handle?

Grinda AI's agents automate the top of the funnel — buyer discovery, multilingual outreach, and reply handling. In marketing they produce short-form video and publish across SNS channels; in back office they run document OCR and proposal or RFP evaluation. Contract negotiation and final decisions stay with people.

In short, the agent takes the repeatable and verifiable front end, and people keep judgment and relationships. Teams that draw this boundary before adoption tend to see steadier results in production.

2. Adoption, cost, and timeline

Should we hire overseas sales staff or adopt an AI agent?

One overseas sales hire costs roughly KRW 50 million per year and typically covers one or two languages (Grinda AI estimate). Rinda runs discovery and outreach in 17 languages at once, and has cut market-entry cost by up to 96% in customer deployments. Local relationship management and contract negotiation still require people.

If you have already committed to one or two markets for the long term, hiring wins on depth. If you do not yet know which market responds, an agent lets you test several countries at low cost, so the price of being wrong is much smaller.

How long does adoption take and what do we need to prepare?

Grinda AI solutions typically reach live use within one to two weeks of the first consultation. What you need is a target country and industry definition, product materials, and a company email domain for sending. A dedicated manager handles initial setup and onboarding with you; no development or infrastructure work is required.

Timelines extend when ERP or legacy system integration or an on-premise build is in scope. In those cases document types, volume, and integration surface are fixed in a diagnostic phase first, and the schedule is set from there.

Can Korean government vouchers reduce the cost of adoption?

Yes. Grinda AI is a registered supplier for Korea's AX and data vouchers and for the export voucher program, and in September 2025 was also selected as a supplier for the Gwangju metropolitan AI voucher program. Companies that meet the criteria can cover a substantial share of initial adoption cost.

Eligibility and the funded share depend on industry, company size, and each year's public announcement. We check the current call schedule and your eligibility together during the consultation.

Can a company without an IT team adopt this?

Yes. Grinda AI solutions are web-based, so there is nothing to install and no developer is needed to start, and a dedicated manager performs the initial setup for you. An IT contact is only needed when internal system integration or an on-premise build is involved, and Grinda still carries out the integration work.

Many inquiries come from small and mid-sized exporters where the export manager or the CEO evaluates the tool directly. The onboarding is designed around that: fewer setup steps, and the remaining ones handled on your behalf.

3. Evidence and fit

Which industries have published use cases?

Grinda AI publishes 18 industry use cases covering beauty (K-beauty export), manufacturing and parts export, deep tech, food, fashion, SaaS, medical, e-commerce, education, franchise, banking and securities, and public sector and legal. Each case is laid out as problem, the automation flow applied, and the metrics that moved.

Cases are grouped into sales automation, marketing automation, and document/data intelligence, so you can narrow by industry and by problem type at the same time.

Won't AI-sent emails be flagged as spam?

Rinda does not blast one template to a list. It writes a different message per buyer and ramps sending volume gradually from your own domain. During onboarding we review sender authentication — SPF, DKIM, and DMARC — together with your team.

Deliverability still depends heavily on domain history and sending habits, so a new domain should start small and grow volume gradually. That principle applies regardless of which tool you use.

How many languages are supported?

Grinda AI's Rinda runs buyer discovery and outreach in 17 languages. The company website and inquiry desk operate in five languages — Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Indonesian — and inquiries sent in English are answered in English.

Copy for each country is localized to local commercial context rather than machine-translated. Adding another language does not require adding another hire, which is the main structural difference from a human sales team.

What exactly does a PoC verify?

Grinda AI's AX program runs in four steps: Diagnose, Design, PoC, and Adoption. The PoC runs a deliberately narrow scope on real data and a real target market, measuring discovery accuracy, reply rate, and how much manual work remains. Those numbers become the criteria for whether to scale.

The purpose of this step is to reduce the number of AI projects that stall at PoC. So before the PoC starts we agree on which number at which level means "adopt."

4. Security, data, and explainability

Is our company data used to train AI models?

No. Grinda AI works on a private-deployment principle: customer data is never used to train external models, and data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. For organizations with strict requirements, the deployment model is agreed against controls aligned with standards such as ISO 27001.

For finance and public sector customers, the scope of data egress, log retention periods, and access separation are written into the adoption contract. Security review materials can be requested during the consultation.

Ask about security requirements

Is an on-premise deployment possible?

Yes. Grinda AI supports on-premise deployment for environments where data cannot leave the organization, such as finance and public sector, and the document OCR and data extraction solution is the most common case. Scope and schedule are fixed during the diagnostic phase.

On-premise cost and timeline vary with document types, volume, and the legacy systems that need integration. A staged approach — start in cloud, move on-premise later — is also possible.

See the document OCR solution

Can we see the evidence behind what the AI produced?

Yes. Grinda AI designs for traceable evidence: the technical evaluation system presents the source passage behind every score and performs evidence-based fact checking, and document OCR uses a human-in-the-loop review where only low-confidence fields are sent to a person.

In evaluation and review work, where someone is accountable for the outcome, being able to show why the system decided something matters more than raw accuracy. That is why evidence tracing is treated as a baseline design requirement.

How is AX consulting different from just buying a solution?

Adopting a solution automates work you have already defined with a specific product. AX is the step before that — deciding which work should be automated at all. Grinda AI's AX program breaks the work down across four steps, Diagnose → Design → PoC → Adoption, and then assembles the solutions needed.

If the target for automation is already clear, starting from the solution is faster. If you do not yet know where to start, beginning with an AX diagnosis usually costs less in total.
